Before coming to New Zealand on holiday, it is necessary to obtain either an NZeTA or visitor visa unless you are an Australian national.

The NZeTA (New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority) is an official document that certifies your eligibility to travel to New Zealand, helping increase security at its borders and maintaining control.

Have been sentenced to prison, deported from any country or affiliated with criminal or terrorist groups; have had serious health problems; or been involved with criminal or terrorist networks. WARNING! As part of a temporary visa application. CAN NOT have served time in prison.

Before coming to New Zealand

How to Pay the International Visitor Levy All visitors coming to New Zealand are subject to paying an International Visitor Levy of NZD$ 35 at the same time they obtain an NZeTA or visitor visa.
